frickingfragonard:

history1970s:

This means nazi:

This does not mean nazi and has existed for hundreds of years as a religious or spiritual symbol in various asian cultures:

It didn’t used to mean nazi but ever since 1933, IT DOES. You cannot change that. It was the symbol used across the world to represent Nazi Germany. It. Means. Nazi. I hate seeing people reblogging this shit. There are somethings you can change. This is not one of them. This will forever be known as a symbol of hate and death of over 8 million people at teh hands of some truly atrocious men. Being all “oh but it’s from asia, guys” does not change this fact. Stop. Stop it now.

Well, I mean, it definitely DOES mean Nazi, in general now, and that’s really hard to overcome, but uh… I think it actually… never… lost use in some asian cultures, and you can certainly see it in historical artifacts and it’s somewhat important to know that while it DOES mean Nazi, it didn’t always and does in fact have a second meaning?

IDK I totally know what you mean, but I think it’s a little bad to completely dismiss the fact that if you see in in the context of asian culture, it’s probably not… a nazi thing?
