She still remembered the first time they’d slept with each other. It’d been late, and it’d been too cold for her to sleep peacefully, and when she’d stumbled over to his pile in a daze, he’d welcomed her. They’d both been tired and so she hadn’t thought anything of it until his arms had slipped around her waist and pulled her close.
It had been so familiar. His arms were warm, and he’d nuzzled his cheek against her neck and she’d thought she was going to faint from embarrassment. Aside from a few times she’d collapsed with exhaustion after pailing… she’d never shared a bed with anyone. Certainly not someone who was so warm and gentle, who nuzzled against her and pulled her close and made her heart race like this.
She hadn’t really been able to sleep that night. It was impossible to relax when he was so close, when he was touching her like it was nothing, when every little shiver only made him pull her closer. So instead, she’d lain awake, her mind drifting and full of him and his affection.
That wasn’t the first time he’d made her blush and writhe and think of him, but it was the first time she’d been able to confess what it meant.
It was the first time he’d held her close that Rochen had finally admitted she was in love with Aerzio.
